To reduce their environmental impact and increase their social responsibility, companies have the option of voluntarily adhering to an internationally recognised standard, ISO 14001. It is a certification that attests to a company’s commitment to continuous business improvement processes in an environmentally friendly way.
Fantini Cosmi also wanted to confirm its orientation towards sustainability by obtaining the ISO 14001 certification.
Why it is important
First published in 1996, ISO 14001 is now the international reference standard for designing and implementing an Environmental Management System (EMS).
The EMS is an important verification tool that can be used by the company to analyse and improve the environmental performance of its activities and services. It serves to create active participation in environmental protection and to improve and streamline processes, reducing costs and waste.
People – whether they are customers, suppliers or end consumers – are becoming increasingly aware of environmental issues and, therefore, being able to benefit from a certification such as ISO 14001 provides concrete evidence of an ongoing commitment to sustainability.
Advantages
A certified Environmental Management System enables us to use resources more efficiently, rationally and consciously, reducing energy waste, waste and emissions, as well as ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.
“We wanted to voluntarily adhere to this standard because our company is increasingly attentive to sustainability issues and maintaining this certification over time will allow us to constantly monitor our processes, to safeguard the value and reputation of the company” pointed out Franco Brambilla, Managing Director of Fantini Cosmi. “This is a commitment that also involves all employees. Taking care of the environment in which we live is a goal that each of us should pursue every day, to live better in the present and not compromise the well-being of future generations.”
